1. Send his favorite DVDs overseas and encourage him to have a movie night with his co-workers. Don’t forget care packages that include microwave popcorn, movie candy and vintage popcorn containers. I bought several for $1 at Target this year.

2. Start collecting classic guy movies/his favorites in preparation for movie night when he returns. He will have missed many movie openings during the time he was away. Again, don’t forget the snacks! This is obviously a huge thing for my hubby!

3. For another spin on movie night, consider sports night. If your husband is deployed during his favorite sports season consider sending a team jersey and the appropriate snacks. If he is home watch the game together, eat the snacks, and YOU wear his jersey. He’ll like it better on you anyway. My husband and I did this one year and he still talks about how much he loved having nachos for dinner.

Win The Husband Project Book and DVD! What movie are type of movie are you going to watch with your husband? Tell us by Thursday, November 10, 2011, winners will be announced on Saturday, November 12, 2011.

Your Project: Leave a cute and flirty note for your husband to find.

The Power of a Note – Let Him Know He’s Loved The Power of a Note – Let Him Know He’s Loved

by Cindi McMenamin

www.StrengthForTheSoul.com

I was feeling out of sorts on a particular Tuesday. My feelings were hurt about a comment my husband made toward me the night before. My expectations were not met in a conversation with a friend that morning. My daughter had an attitude when I picked her up from school. I was exasperated. Tensions were rising. And something inside of me was ready to blow.

I walked through the front door in tears, feeling lousy and unloved. I walked up the stairs and into my study and stopped abruptly! There it was…

On my computer keyboard was a single red rose, wrapped in cellophane. On it was a note, in my husband’s handwriting, that simply said: “Love you, Wife.”

Oh, the power of a note.

I am loved. I am not a loser. I am loved.

It wasn’t a huge revelation. Deep down, I knew my husband loved me. But the gesture – right there in front of me – the expression, simple yet sincere, spoke volumes. I was reminded. I was brought back to reality. I am loved.

Your husband also has days that make him want to blow.

What if – during those times that your man is under extreme pressure and coming up with few words for you –you found some extra meaningful words for him? What if you realized, in the fiery pit of everyday tensions, the power of a note?

Try it. Get into his car when he’s away and put a sticky note on his steering wheel that says “You drive me crazy…in a good way!”

Stick a note in his duffel bag, on his bathroom mirror or under the toilet seat that says something special so he knows he’s admired, respected, desired and loved.

Never, ever underestimate the power of a note!

Deployed Details – Doing the Project When Your Man is On Active Duty

1. Send him notes or emails that say the following…”I love you more than the day we met.”…”You are so sexy.” “How about a Skype date this weekend?”

2. Mail him a note or card with words of encouragement. Maybe do up a bunch and then they are ready to mail out each week or as you feel he needs a pick me up.

To win Cindi’s Book: Just tell us where you plan to leave the note for your husband by Wednesday, November 9, 2011. We will announce the winners on Friday, November 11, 2011.
